Lino prints

These five etchings were created as a series. I used the Soft Ground technique to investigate and explore texture using found objects as templates.

For the past two years, during the Covid 19 lockdowns, I had time to reflect on the wasteful habits we all have. Our society encourages the disposable, to the detriment of our planet. To shine a light on this dilemma I sought out discarded objects, often finding these on the footpath or in the large wheelie bins used by the building sector. I wanted to repurpose them and give them a new life.

Instead of using multiple plates for colour, I decided to hand paint them, there-by reducing my ‘carbon footprint’.
