Etchings 2022-2024
These etchings were created in my Printmaking Studio at Redbox Studios, Collingwood and also during my residencies at Atelier Bo Halbirk, Paris; France. I began to explore build up layers of texture using objects as templates and soft-ground as the main technique.
Three of these prints were selected for the Tacit Art Editions Award 2022. These were Recipient, Relic and End Game. I was joint winner of the award.
The war between Palestine and Israel broke out during my October 2023 residency in Paris. This event led me to think about identity and patriotism. i began designing a series of flags representing countries that don’t exist.
